Each spring, RIAAO hosts the annual Counselor College Tour, which allows counselors to visit the 10 four-year institutions in Rhode Island.  This program is open to domestic and international school counselors from public, private, and parochial secondary schools, as well as independent counselors. Each year, one counselor from a Rhode Island secondary school is also selected to participate.

Tour participants will visit: Brown University, Bryant University, Johnson & Wales University, New England Institute of Technology, Providence College, Rhode Island College, Rhode Island School of Design, Roger Williams University, Salve Regina University, and University of Rhode Island.

Every stop includes a campus tour, meeting with admission representatives, breakfast/lunch/dinner, and other programming the institution has setup.  Counselors can expect to spend up to 3 hours at each institution.

Formal invitations will be sent via email to those that have requested them in early winter

Non-Refundable Registration Fee: $300

The Counselor College Tour receives many more registrations than there are spaces (40).  RIAAO will select counselors who have submitted their registration and fee.  This is not a first come-first serve selection process.  Any counselor not selected will be added to a waiting list.  Counselors who are ultimately not selected for the tour will have their registration fee returned.

Items to consider:

·         Counselors are required to participate in the entirety of the program (a welcome reception on Sunday evening until noon on Thursday, after the final visit)

·         Counselors are responsible for their own transportation to and from the host hotel

·         The tour is limited to one counselor per school district

·         Tour fee will cover single room hotel accommodations, all meals, and transportation between schools/events

·         Detailed instructions on the registration process are included in the formal invitation
